Odo, sensing their fear, knelt and prayed for peace. Miraculously, the villagers’ unease faded, and an elder invited them to share their story. The Story of Christmas Under a grand tree, Odo gathered the villagers and told them the story of Jesus' birth. He spoke of a baby sent by God to bring love, hope, and joy to the world. The villagers, especially the children, were captivated and asked to celebrate this special birth. The First Christmas Celebration The villagers prepared joyfully: children decorated a tree with palm leaves, seashells, and flowers, while the adults cooked a feast of fresh fruits, fish, and rice. Odo taught them a song about Jesus, and together they celebrated under the starry sky. The Gift Exchange Odo encouraged the villagers to exchange gifts made with love. They gave simple, meaningful offerings like woven mats, carved animals, and shiny shells, emphasizing the true spirit of giving. The Lesson of Christmas Odo reminded everyone that Christmas was about love, kindness, and unity. The villagers, touched by his words, vowed to celebrate Christmas every year as a reminder to cherish these values. Odo's Departure As Odo and his friends prepared to leave, the villagers gave him a pouch of seashells as a token of gratitude. Page 1: Miko the Meerkat and Lizzy the lizard live in the hot and dry Kalahari Desert. Page 2: Miko and Lizzy are best friends and do everything together! Page 3: Miko is a bright (lively) and friendly meerkat. ( he loves popping and looking out of burrows to explore the Kalahari ) (Miko likes moving from place to place and can’t stay still!) Page 4: Lizzy is a clever lizard ( she loves to imagine about the stars in the sky so much that she sometimes forgets to listen in class ) whose mind never stopped racing. Page 5: Miko and Lizzy are different from their friends because they both have ADHD! Page 6: Miko struggled to stay still in class. He was always digging burrows and often got distracted during his How to Spot a Predator class. Page 7: Lizzy also struggled in class, she couldn’t focus on her sun safety class (she was easily distracted by the clouds in the sky and often forgot to take down her homework ) because of how fast her thoughts were moving. Page 8: (Miko and Lizzy struggled in class but their ADHD was an advantage!) After visiting Dr Wild, the Wildebeest, Miko and Lizzy learnt to do things that would help them to manage their ADHD. Page 9: Miko became the captain of the sand surfing team and had the fastest record in the desert! Miko was also top of his insect tracking class and created the first ever pair of insect spy goggles that could see different insect tracks and tells you what type of insect you are looking at! Page 10: Lizzy enjoyed stargazing so much that she was top of the class for astronomy and could name every constellation. Page 11: Even though Miko and Lizzy had some tough times with their ADHD, they both learnt cool tricks to help them feel better and do their best.
Harvey is a bright young man who has an adorable dog named Sparky. Harvey is a 16 year old boy who has been working as a newspaper delivery boy for 3 months of summer. His boss, Mr. Smith wants to employ Harvey for the rest of the year and tells him about 401k. At first Harvey is skeptical and unhappy that more money will be deducted from his check. Mr. Smith tells him that if you put a portion of your money towards a Roth IRA account his money will grow on accrued interest. Harvey was confused at first and so was sparky. Mr. Smith found a beautiful and easy story that he used as an analogy to explain to Harvey what a Roth IRA account is and how does money grow. His retirement account will be worth a lot of money and Harvey decides to listen to his boss. He decided to put 20 dollars every week. After 4 months he had about 355 dollars, which is 35 dollars more than he contributed. He was so happy that his money grew and was happy with his investment. Sparky was also happy.
Principal Baure works at Upper Merion Area School District which is a state of the art school. All the classrooms have all glass walls. It is a futuristic school.
